Much of my work has a definite (though often subtle) narrative dimension. I am drawn to stories that emphasize some type of challenge, one that may seem static or hopeless, but which leads to an affirmative resolution. It is in these situations—which can be seen as tests of character, preparedness, and the capacity of one’s inner resources—that my female protagonists truly shine; deploying their life force and powers of adaptation to transform lifeless, intractable situations into fulfilling or enlightening circumstances.
