Midday Summer Meditation Dream
-
"Midday Summer Meditation Dream" is a five-channel video installation that explores the idea of escaping to natural and manmade beauty and traversing various spaces like mountains, the ocean, an old town, and a garden. At the heart of this installation is the monarch butterfly, symbolizing boundless movement and beauty.
The inspiration for this project struck me during the summer of 2019 on the Amalfi Coast, Italy. As I immersed myself in exploring different natural elements and objects, I became captivated. Hence, I felt a strong desire to share this experience, creating a space where viewers could feel as though they were physically present. My ultimate goal is to transport viewers to these places and allow them to partake in a "Midday Summer Meditation Dream."
To engage viewers, I made the decision to construct a multi-channel installation space. All five channels start playing simultaneously, with each projector and its speaker emitting natural sounds, creating an intimate and immersive experience. Additionally, there is a central backdrop of ambient music.
Nature has always been a profound source of inspiration for me regarding its beauty and our place within it.
